Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the glasses being recalled?

The print on the outside of the glasses contains elevated levels of lead and cadmium that exceed EU safety limits for materials intended for food contact. There is no immediate health risk. However, as the product does not comply with EU legal requirements, customers should stop using it.

What part of the product is affected?

Only the exterior print is affected. The glass itself does not pose an issue.

What should I do as a customer?

Customers should stop using the glasses immediately and return them to any Flying Tiger Copenhagen store. A receipt is not required, and a full refund will be provided.

How can customers identify affected products?

What is Flying Tiger Copenhagen doing to prevent this?

The products originate from a supplier we have immediately stopped working with. We have strict compliance procedures in place. All products undergo comprehensive testing at third-party laboratories before reaching the market. We continuously review and strengthen our processes and act immediately if products do not meet legal requirements.

Why wasn’t this recalled earlier or at the same time as similar products?

After the initial recall of a similar drinking glass, we carried out a detailed investigation. This process identified additional affected products, which have now also been recalled. Investigations of this nature take time to ensure accuracy. Following the initial recall, we conducted a thorough investigation, which identified five additional glasses with the same issue. All other tested products passed.

Why do you not test products before they go to market?

Our products are tested through comprehensive assurance processes, including third-party laboratory testing, before being released for sale. Unfortunately, we became aware of this issue after the initial test was passed.

Why do you still sell similar glasses?

Our investigation confirmed that only the recalled glasses are affected. All other similar products have passed testing and meet safety requirements.

I own other versions of these glasses – what should I do?

No action is required unless your product is part of the recall. The issue is limited to the identified glasses only. However, we will offer a full refund for other versions, even though they meet the safety requirements.
