Built to return to the Earth

A matter of materials

In a world of limited resources, we need to carefully choose which materials we use. Read more about our product materials and learn why recycled plastic is fantastic.

🌿 Bamboo is cool

Bamboo has its own powerful story. It has a tensile strength that rivals steel and is the fastest growing plant on the planet. Bamboo can grow up to an impressive one meter a week. But the best thing about bamboo is that it’s a renewable resource. It continues to grow new shoots, and its roots remain in the soil which helps to prevent soil erosion.

🌳 The wonders of wood

Wood is a wonderful material. It’s renewable, biodegradable, long-lasting and ages beautifully. Wood harvested from FSC® certified forests is even more wonderful. FSC is an international, non-profit organisation that ensures that the trees that are harvested are replaced or allowed to regenerate naturally. Look for the FSC logo and buy wood and paper with a clear conscience.

🫙 Glass got class

Cheers to glass, a highly durable and 100% recyclable material! Glass is one of the most widely recycled materials across the globe. When glass is collected for recycling, it requires a lower melting temperature, reducing the carbon footprint. For every six tons of recycled glass, we save the atmosphere one ton of carbon dioxide. Glass can be endlessly recycled.

♻️ Recycled plastic is fantastic

Plastic that has been recycled has much lower emissions than virgin plastic. Plastics are one of the most versatile and commonly used materials in the world, and for some products it’s the right material to use. When plastic is recycled and reused, we prevent waste creation and respect the resources that has already been used in the making of the material.

🌱 Seagrass grows fast

Seagrass is a marvellous plant that lives in shallow, sheltered areas along the coast. If you find yourself near to a bay or a lagoon, we bet you’re near some seagrass too. Seagrass, not to be confused with seaweed, is a renewable and bio-degradable material in its natural form.

⚙️ Steel is a sweet deal

Stainless steel is cool! The shiny looking metal on your fork, knife and refrigerator door (and so much more) is highly durable and can be fully recycled. It’s easy to re-melt and can be reused infinitely, without any quality degradation. This makes stainless steel a material that can last a lifetime. Moreover, it doesn’t stain, corrode, or rust as easily as ordinary steel.
